A few weeks ago we had a little gathering at our house to celebrate our second little miracle! Being that we are away from all of our Family and most friends it can be a challenge. But thankfully we have a little village here made up of a few friends who actually used to live in LA and are also now living in Dallas. So we gathered on the day the I turned 22 weeks as a way to to only celebrate finding out the gender, but also to celebrate the milestone of making it to 22 weeks and NOT in pre-term labor like with Jaxson.
Preparing for our Gender Reveal was interesting overall. At my 20 week scan, I had the sonographer put the ultrasound picture in a SEALED envelope so that I could pass it along to my neighbor. I ordered our SURPRISE confetti cannons and my neighbor emailed the company the gender. I must say- I was pretty cool and calm about finding out the gender, that is until the week of. Both my husband and I were getting a little anxious to find out if we were having another baby boy or a sweet baby girl this time! I was thinking we would be TEAM GIRL and hubby was feeling like it was a BOY.
We kept the decor pretty simple by using balloons, confetti and streamers with pink and blue accents throughout our food and drink spread. Hubby and I created a taco bar with all the fixings, I made cupcakes, a small candy bar and fun pink & blue drinks! We kept things budget friendly which is always a plus and everything looked great.
Our guest took turns in a short video saying what their guess for the gender was and after our bellies were full, we assembled outside to FINALLY find out!!!!
I was right! I felt all along that I was carrying a girl and I was just elated to finally know it was true! Both hubby and I are happy, we ultimately want a healthy FULL TERM baby! It was so exciting to use the confetti and powder cannons, it was the perfect way to reveal! Baby girl is growing by the day and I’m starting to feel her more and more and its truly amazing! So in February I will not only be a boy mom, but a girl mom too!!! Bring on the bows and all girly things :)
